The Arkansas GlacierCats skated into Little Rock, Arkansas for two seasons in the Western Professional Hockey League (WPHL) from 1998-2000.  The GlacierCats were popular with the fans during their short time until they were displaced by the Arkansas RiverBlades of the ECHL in 2000 where they played in the new Alltel Arena in North Little Rock.  

In their first season, the GlacierCats finished fourth in the WPHL Eastern Division with a record of  37-27-5.  They were edged out of the first round of the playoffs by the Monroe Moccasins 2 games to 1.  The next season, the GlacierCats again finished fourth in the Eastern Division with a record of 32-29-9.  They swept Monroe 2 games to 0 in the first round and lost to the Central Texas Stampede 3 games to 1 in the second round.

The GlacierCats were the first professional ice hockey team in the state of Arkansas.
