Las Vegas Aces Repeat as Queens of the WNBA

The Las Vegas Aces withstood a late game rally by the New York Liberty as it took a defensive stop on the last play of the game for a thrilling 70-69 win in Game Four.  The win clinched the series three games to one and a repeat for the Aces.

A'ja Wilson was named the Most Valuable Player of the series as she led the Aces with 24 points and 16 rebounds.  She became the first player in WNBA history with at least 20 points and 15 rebounds in a finals-clinching win.  Jackie Young added 16 points and had seven assists.  Click here to read more details on the game.  You can watch the highlights from Game Four here.

The Aces became the first repeat champions in 20 years.  They join the Houston Comets (1997-2000) and Los Angeles Sparks (2001-2002) as the only franchises to repeat WNBA titles.  The Aces' franchise began as the Utah Starzz in 1997, moved to San Antonio in 2003 and then to Las Vegas in 2018.

New York now falls to 2-10 all time in the WNBA Finals and is still looking for its first title.

The Aces dominated the regular season with a 34-6 record and was the top-seed in the WNBA playoffs.  They swept the Chicago Sky and Dallas Wings to get to the finals.
