Floorball League Ready for Season #3

The North American Floorball League (NAFL) is set to begin their third season and working to grow more exposure for the sport as the league's six teams will have a tour-based schedule in 2024 for the month-long season.  The league will play in Georgetown, Texas during the weekend of July 13-15, then in Nashville, Tennessee (July 18-21) with the season concluding in Duluth, Minnesota (July 24-28) including two semifinal playoff games and the Troy Cup Final.

The Fort Worth Jaguars, Ohio Aviators, Minnesota Growlers, Fresno Force, Texas 39ers and Seattle Sockeyes will play a 10-game schedule.

Former San Jose Sharks forward Joonas Donskoi retired from the National Hockey League but has returned to play for the Fresno Force this season.

The Florida Vikings won the Troy Cup in 2023.

Games are played in three 20-minute periods, with an intermission between each, and should the game end in a tie, there is a 5-minute sudden death overtime period, followed by a shootout. Teams are seeded in the playoffs based on the points they earn during the season. Three points are awarded for a win in regulation, two points for a win in overtime, one for a loss in overtime, and no points are given for a regulation loss. The only deviation from the IFF rulebook is that penalty shots and shootouts are played with a 15-second shot clock in the NAFL, whereas IFF rules allow an unlimited amount of time to shoot, as long as either the ball or shooter are continually moving forward.
